Don’t you just love it when those synchronicities pop up, they give you that sense that there is a greater plan at work that someone somewhere has everything under control and can guide you in the direction you wish to go.
Just yesterday I was reading a book and I read a part about a man called Norman Cousins who it is said cured himself from an illness by shutting himself in a hotel room and watching fuuny tv shows and films
“I made the joyous discovery that ten minutes of genuine belly laughter had an anesthetic effect and would give me at least two hours of pain-free sleep. When the pain-killing effect of the laughter wore off, [Ellen and I] would switch on the motion picture projector again and not infrequently, it would lead to another pain-free interval.”
The synchronicity that made me sit up and take notice was that while I was researching him I discovered that he died on November 30th, which was indeed the day I had read his name and started looking into his work. I read about him in a book on the day he died, at a page that I had opened casually, definitely a message from the Universe. The other interesting thing was that my daughter had recently recommended a TV show to me as it was so funny it had her rolling around in laughter.
It’s all very well wondering at these synchronicities but we have to act on them, they are signposts for us to follow, not to talk about and then to ignore. I was watching ‘Modern Family’ but I caught up and the episodes are only about once a week, we need to laugh every day so the comedy in my life continues with watching Miranda, a British sitcom I never got to see as I live in Italy. Watched a couple of episodes so far and already love it.
